Lombok

Separated from Bali by a vast ocean, the vegetation and animals on this side of the Wallace Line, named after the renowned naturalist, are distinct to the trained eye.
Lombok provides the average traveler with an additional location to explore. It is quieter than Bali, yet attracts slightly more adventurous tourists.

The opportunity to climb Mt. Rinjani (3.726m above sea level), where the air is thin and nighttime temperatures are frigid, is popular among adventurers, In contrast, the lowlands include warm tropical beaches and jungles.

Sumbawa

Located to the east of the more popular island of Lombok, Sumbawa is awaiting discovery. Sumbawa may be more difficult to reach, but once you are there, you will be rewarded with breathtaking scenery.

This island is renowned for its surf, sandy beaches, and rugged landscape. With excellent waves and stunning coral reefs, the bulk of visitors to Sumbawa are surfers and scuba divers.

In certain regions of Sumbawa, traditional methods of life persist today. Numerous ancient rituals, such as water buffalo racing and berempuk, a traditional boxing bout, are still practiced.

You have a taste for adventure and want to experience local culture in its purest form.

Sumba

The island of Sumba in East Nusa Tenggara Province has its own unique splendors in the eastern portion of the Indonesian Archipelago, with its rough, undulating savannahs and low limestone hills interwoven with fields of maize and cassava instead of rice.

Its countryside is dotted with hilltop villages with thatched traditional clan houses clustered around unique megalithic tombs, where villagers still pay homage to their ancestors in accordance with the ancient belief of Marapu and have preserved the majority of indigenous culture and traditions for generations.

The island is also renowned for the exquisite craftsmanship of handwoven Tenun Ikat cloth, as well as the origin of the robust and nimble Sumba Ponies or Sandalwood Horses.

Located between Komodo and Sumbawa and directly facing the Indian Ocean, the island is a paradise for surfers.

Flores

Flores, named by 16th-century Portuguese explorers, is a new Indonesian tourist attraction.

Labuan Bajo is a famous tourist attraction on the island’s west coast.

The Komodo Islands are known for Komodo Dragons and Indonesia’s best diving.

Flores’ beautiful coastline and adjoining islands have captivated scuba divers for years. The island’s interior terrain discourages most visitors. Flores’ cliffs, narrow valleys, and dense forests create a breathtaking landscape and a rich cultural legacy. East into the interior, you’ll pass Wae Rebo, Ruteng’s spiderweb rice fields, and Kelimutu Volcano three colored lakes.

Flores’ cliffs and steep wooded valleys made it difficult to explore but gave it gorgeous landscapes and rich culture.
